Making moves is key to obtaining success. No matter who you are, what you do, or what you want to achieve, you must start with the basics. I guarantee that after 10 minutes you’ll be on your way. If you try this and disagree, I’ll give you your money back.
1. BUY YOUR DOMAIN.
- Make sure it’s .com. Not .net, .org, .info, .me. Plain and simple .com
- Godaddy.com is a quick and dirty place to get it. Don’t get any of the frills they try to sell you though. Just get the domain – that is the most important.
2. GET ON TWITTER
- Easy as pie to sign up. Do it while you’re eating breakfast, do it while you’re brushing your teeth, do it while you’re vaccuming. I don’t care. Just do it.
- Start posting! Please do not post what you ate for breakfast, what brand toothpaste you use, or that you need to change the bag on your vacuum cleaner. ADD VALUE to those who are following you. If you need some tips on Twitter Ettiquette, try
3. GET ON LINKEDIN
- Again, easy as pie. Do it.
- Already on it? You rock! Make sure your profile is completed 100%. Start connecting with everyone around you – everyone you meet – everyone you speak with.
- Need more help on how to leverage LinkedIn? Try this.
4. CLEAN HOUSE
- If you don’t want to see it on the front page of the paper, don’t post it. Anything you write is public domain, anything you post can be seen. Do yourself a favor and don’t embarrass yourself.
5. HELP A FRIEND
- Do you know someone? Chances are you do. Do you like to see your friends succeed? I know I do. Tell them they can be on their way in 10 minutes – encourage encourage encourage. It’s empowering.
- Be like Kyle, who did all of these things and is CRUSHING IT now.
